Stop Chasing the Algorithm: How I Built a Calm, Authentic Social Media System
If you’ve ever opened Instagram and felt overwhelmed before you even posted — you’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
As a web designer working with soul-led coaches and creatives, I know how important it is to be visible online. But I also know how easy it is to get caught in the cycle of “shoulds.” I should post more. I should be showing up every day. I should try reels, carousels, live video, trending audio...
I used to think I needed to do all of it — until I realized: I don’t.
And neither do you.
The Shift
After training in holistic coaching and building a more intentional business for myself, I stepped away from what didn’t feel aligned. I use Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, but only on desktop, I don’t have them on my phone. That means no mindless scrolling, no pressure to “engage” all day long.
I don’t often post Instagram stories because they’re tricky to schedule, and I engage with my audience only when I’m behind my laptop, during dedicated time. Of course I could do more if I wanted to grow my audience fast, but it wouldn’t be sustainable - nor authentic.
What I learned is that it’s not about being everywhere, all of the time. It’s about being present, showing up as yourself— where and when it counts.
My System
I now run my social media on a system that gives me calm and consistency:
I use Buffer for scheduling
Canva for branded visuals
Google Drive and Apple Notes to save content ideas
AI tools to help me turn rough ideas into draft copy
Once every two months, I feel inspired and set aside just one morning for writing and one for making visuals. That’s all it takes. I turn the notes and highlights of those months into posts and create around 10-15 posts per platform. Then, over the next two months I check in on each platform once or twice a week - and focus on meaningful engagement. No daily hustle, no content fatigue.
For My Clients, Too
Many of my clients feel overwhelmed by social media. They want to connect — but not get caught in a never-ending feed. They want clarity, not comparison.
That’s why I now offer a Social Media System Setup: a calm, strategic foundation that lets you show up authentically, without burning out. You’ll get branded templates, pre-written posts, automated scheduling, and personalized training in easily creating authentic content— so your social media works in the background, while you focus on your work.
Because visibility shouldn’t cost your presence.
